I’m no different, that’s how I make a difference

Do you remember any of your thoughts and feelings about life prior to accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? It may be a gift that my great God has given me; it may be unusual but I do remember the emptiness, the huge hole in my life that nothing, not people, fun, family, money, career, not even human love could fill. I wrote this post on my old blog about three years ago. I’m pleased to say the Lord has given me back my passion and I still believe it’s the compromises in life that drained me. The Lord warns us to guard our hearts and we all need to follow...

Love Has Come

We’ve just started a women’s Bible Study at church and one week in it’s already making me think. The study is Believing God by Beth Moore and, although I’ve already done this particular study some 7 years ago, it’s a good time in my life to go through it again. There are going to be some coming changes in this family and I have a feeling I’m going to need to be reminded to actively, purposefully believe God is who says He is and can do what He says He can do. As I sit inside, the cloud cover these past few days of 75+ degree days is tricking me into believing it’s still cold out there. It surprised me today to read on Facebook that someone nearby was planning on “rockin the shorts and the flipflops.” When I got out of bed this morning I put on my uniform of a brown sweater and jeans. So predictable! So drab! February in Texas is nice but March and...

Inside and Out

It’s an absolutely beautiful day today. The sun is shining. The cold wind of the past few days has turned into a warm, light breeze. If it were 15 degrees warmer we’d have complete perfection happening outside. It’s an absolutely beautiful day inside too. For reasons maybe only God can explain it is a day filled with hope. Do you have those days often? I don’t believe they could ever come often enough for me. I’m home alone. It’s just so incredibly quiet and my mind is filled with thoughts of purpose and planning. I know that God is doing a work in our...

Remembering the Way God Works

A few winters ago when we lived in Wisconsin and after a bad snow storm, my husband was required to help move cars around at the dealership he works at in order to get the entire lot cleared of snow. After hours of getting in and out of cars, cleaning the snow from those same cars, and trudging through a foot of snow he realized his wedding ring was missing. He called to tell me the bad news; we prayed that God would show him where it was. A week later, when the snow started to melt, we decided to take some time out of our Sunday afternoon (when the dealership was closed) to have a look...
