So good to hear someone elses journey to find a church home. We have also been down the same road. Wanting to feel welcomed and ready to serve the Lord in a church. I researched online and we visited churches. We have prayed. Funny, in my research, it was brought to my attention...that no matter how hard I research and look-No church is perfect. We aren't perfect and only God is. My younger sister had been inviting us to her church, it just seemed out of the way. We would be passing literally 50 churches along the way. I learned alot from the simple lesson of trying to find the "perfect" church. I am not perfect, Church isn't perfect and God is never that far away. We really enjoy our morning family ride to her church we now call ours.

I'm getting into God's word more and more. Last year our church (of about 2000) decided to read the Bible together in a year. We all started with our One Year Bibles and set out on what we called the Route 66. It was amazing to sit with friends/family and talk about what God was teaching us through our daily reading. It felt so cool to know we were all on the same journey together. We also use the method S.O.A.P. for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. Great news is, we're all doing it again this year! It's so awesome to open God's word each day and let Him speak to us.

Great post Lauren!

Great thoughts, Lauren. I'm indulging in His Word these days...memorizing Scriptures that I need to fight the battle being waged against me. Praise Him for His MIGHTY Word!!

I can relate to so much you said in this post. Part of the reason I don't blog anymore is because I have a wonderful real life friend (an answer to prayer) who is such a blessing! And we do REAL life stuff together! And also, I'm the mom of two rowdy toddlers and I don't have a laptop. Them being unsupervised while I'm blogging in the computer room is NOT a good idea. :-) Keep writing, Lauren. Write from your heart about what your heart is passionate about. I used to admire those people who have huge blog followings and always write witty stuff. I've just got too much going on in my real life to work that hard at keeping the blog following up. Anyway, I'm rambling. And, I agree, aren't the winters great here?
