I love Psalm 30: 11-12! What a great verse to open with. It's not always easy to find joy in a trial but knowing God has my back makes it bearable.

I completely understand your comment about children's ministry. Aside from the church that we are at now, we were either expected to serve in children's ministry simply because we had kids, OR once people found out that I was a teacher, they would either directly assign or attempt to recruit me to children's ministry. Don't get me wrong either. I very much enjoy teaching children, however, I do have other gifts that can be utilized, and after a whole week of working with kids, I would really like to do something different on the weekends besides prepping and teaching for another day of school. This especially became the case when I started homeschooling. I was with my kids (and oftentimes other people's kids) all day every day. On Sundays, my kids were ready to listen to anybody else but me and I just wanted to be with adults. When it is feasible, I am usually more than happy to help out for VBS or whatever...something much more short term.

You stopped by my blog some time ago and left me a comment. Today as I was just "hanging out" on the web, I began visiting the sites linked to comments on my blog. First, thank you for visiting and leaving an encouraging word. But, more than that... Thank you for writing. I've read this post and some of your other pages and found that I, too, and looking forward to getting to know you through the pages of this blog. Many blessings, Lauren. Well done.
