I hear it time and time again. A child misbehaves, someone informs their parent and the parent makes excuses for the child. The parent doesn’t take the information seriously or worse yet they take offense to hearing the truth. I’ve never liked the saying that Hillary Clinton coined some years ago, “It takes a village to raise a child,” only because of the full extent of the meaning behind it. Hidden Chains

Sometimes the thoughts in my head are ugly. So ugly that I would never write them here. Most of January, my head was filled those ugly, self-deprecating thoughts. It got down right scary in my head for a while there. So I decided to start writing them out. Not here, of course, because well… because I like to to be real not horrifying. So I journaled. For a couple of days I wrote every thought that came to mind during the moments that I was completely overwhelmed with despair. Let me tell you, those are some pages that need to be burned in the backyard as soon as the burn ban is lifted....
